All of the Tree surgery, landscaping and fencing work carried out in Bristol and Bath by our team at Fairington Tree Surgery complies with The Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981. The WCA is the principal legislation within the UK used to protect and conserve our wildlife and its habitat. It is one of the most important pieces of wildlife legislation in this country.
The Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 states that it is an offence to do any of the following:
.Intentionally take or destroy an egg of any wild bird.
.Intentionally take, damage or destroy the nest of any
.wild bird whilst the nest is either currently in use or is
.Intentionally kill, injure or take any wild bird.
The nesting season for wild birds within this country are generally considered to be from the beginning of March to the end of July. If nesting birds are found to be present in a tree, or near Fencing Bristol then we must not carry out any work on that tree.
If the tree surgery or fencing work around Bath or Bristol has already started and nesting birds are then discovered, we must also stop all work immediately. The work will then be rescheduled for later in the year.
